Desert Night Lizard
(Xantusia vigilis)
The Desert Night Lizard is not a reptile that I encountered to often during my stay at Fort Irwin. Mostly I found them under boards near abandoned buildings. Interesting little creatures, they are night stalkers with large eyes specifically designed for nighttime use.
